So what’s with Mt. Talamitam and what sets it apart from the rest? Here’s a quick overview:
The challenge starts when you reach the plateau where the peak of Talamitam sits. The are is an open area and there’s no tree cover. It can be very exhausting hike if the sun is up. I suggest you to bring enough water and have your sunblock on.
This is what they called Teletubbyland, which reminded me so much of my childhood days. Well we weren’t able to see Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po (haha) but we got the chance to get up close with the horses, carabaos and goats along the trail. From here, you can see the summit of Talamitam. Here is also where they set up tents for those who wanted to take a rest or an overnight stay. From here, you can already see Mt. Batulao.
Mt. Talamitam Summit:
Our final leg up to the summit. It was so hot that day. Honestly the trail is ok. It’s the direct heat of the sun that made us so exhausted. Nevertheless, we were rewarded by this beautiful view. So awesome, right? ^_^
Before we arrived this last ascend to the summit, there’s a small “bahay-kubo” that sells refreshing drinks and some snacks.
After spending enough time to the summit, we decided to descend. We had a quick refresher at the Layong Bato also known as Layong Bilog a portion of the Galo River near Brgy. Aga. We just had a quick dip and relax on the cool river water.
