Mambukal Mountain Resort Travel Guide and Itinerary

Mambukal Mountain resort

Mambukal Mountain Resort is a must place to visit when you are in the province of Bacolod. It’s an hour drive away from the city that offers a place for relaxation and distressing. This nature friendly place is located in the boundaries of the municipality of Murcia, Negros Occidental.

How to go to Mambukal Mountain Resort?

There is a terminal of jeepneys available in Libertad Market, Bacolod. Just ask which one will bring you to Mambukal. The resort is located in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

What to expect in Mambukal Mountain Resort?

We arrived in the resort early in the morning. After getting off the van, we immediately start exploring the area. The resort lies near Mt. Kanlaon. They have hot springs, regular swimming pool, therapeutic pool, cottages for picnics, kayaking, scenics views and the well known 7 falls.

The lagoon is so wide. This is where you can do kayaking.

On our way to the butterfly garden, we saw this beautiful spot where we took another set of pictures.

Mambukal resort rates

Before going inside the garden, you need to pay for Php25 entrance fee. Inside the garden are different flowers and lots of butterflies of different shapes and colors.

Plus, you got the chance to be a butterfly yourself. haha

It’s very overwhelming having that interactions with butterflies. We stayed for like 20 to 30 minutes only. Having that limited time, we decided to go to the next place.

mambukal waterfalls

There’s a trekking needed in order to reach the waterfalls. You have to pay for every level of waterfalls and hire a tour guide (Php350). The first 5 waterfalls are not for swimming. You have to reach the 6th and 7th falls if you wanted to take a dip.

Mambukal Resort lies 1,200 feet above sea level beside the active Mt. Kanlaon. That’s why there a lot of hot springs. This is the only part that is warm enough for hand dipping. But still, it’s hot for me. Dipping your hand longer is not possible. ūüôā

Mambukal Mountain Resort

It’s my first time seeing something like this. The pool is emitting gasses. We can actually see parts where it is really boiling and the area smells sulfur.

There’s a lot of fruit bats in the area too. They can be seen even while walking in the area. We saw group of them flying just above us.

This is where we spent most of our time. The pool is very relaxing and it feels like it took toxins from our body. Just be reminded that swimming pools need to be paid separately.
