Langtaran Grove White Beach Resort Travel Guide – Catarman, Northern Samar

Langtaran Grove White Beach Resort is located at Laoang Road National Road, Brgy UEP Zone 2, Catarman, Northern Samar, Philippines. This is one of the well-known resorts in Northern Samar. A coastal province with pristine beaches that are great diving spots for people who love the ocean.

Langtaran Grove Beach Resort offers a wide sand beach with a beautiful seawater color of blue-green. Since it’s facing the pacific the wave is calm in the morning and it gets stronger as it approaches midday.

Langtaran Grove White Beach Resort – HOW TO GET THERE?

• Option 1 – Philippine Airlines has direct flights from Manila to Catarman or to Calbayog Airport; going by plane is the most convenient way to get to this beach.
• Option 2 – The only available flight going to Samar is through Tacloban Airport. It’s an 8-hour drive going to Catarman Northern Samar.
• Option 3 – You can also take a bus or van in Pasay or Cubao bound for Catarman, Samar.
• Once at Catarman, you can hire a tricycle to take you to Langtaran Grove White Beach Resort; the fare costs around ₱25 to ₱50 more or less.

Experience:

We called a week prior to book two of their Airconditioned Cabanas but it was already fully booked at that time so instead, we got 2 Standard rooms. They don’t accept pencil bookings when you inquire online. So you need to deposit half of the price to their bank account and pay the rest when you arrive at the resort. Save a screenshot/receipt of your deposit slip or payment confirmation because they will still ask for it when you arrive for verification purposes.

Walk-ins are allowed but it won’t guarantee you a room for an overnight stay. If you’re in for a day tour, its fine. They have a lot of cottages available.

  ₱500 (Regular Cottage; 8am to 5:30pm)/₱800 night rate
  ₱1,000 (Family Cottage; 8am to 5:30pm)/ ₱1,500 night rate
• Rental of “Payong-payong”
  ₱250 (Inclusive of table/chairs or lounge chairs)
• Rental of Cabanas (Room Accommodation)
  Standard Room P1950/night for 2 pax; airconditioned
  Family Room P3250/night for 6 pax; airconditioned
• Tent Accommodation
  ₱500 (small; up to 2 pax)
  ₱800 (medium; up to 4 pax)
  ₱1,000 (large; up to 6 pax)

REMINDERS

• Catarman is a small town, so don’t expect much when it comes to nightlife and restaurant choices.
• The resort doesn’t have WiFi. But you can use your Cellular Data.
• Free private parking is available on-site.
• Bring your own water. What’s in their restaurant is a bit expensive.
• No Corkage – so you can also bring your own food. Though they have restaurants if you want to buy there.
• Food/drinks for the day trip – The town is only 15 minutes away from Langtaran Grove.
