Five Fingers Adventure in BATAAN | Day Trip + Itinerary

Five Fingers in Mariveles Bataan is perfect in fulling our cravings for adventure and nature tripping. After a long week of work, my friends and I are looking for a place where we can have a day tour with a jam-packed adventure. Something to recharge and unwind of some sort. And we found Five Fingers cove which offers cliff jumping, snorkeling, a short trek, rock climbing, swimming, and island hopping. It indeed meets the attention it gets online – a must-see paradise in Bataan.

Five Fingers Bataan: How to go?

There are travel agencies that offer day trip adventure here that includes transportation, tour guide fee and boat fee. But if you plan to experience Five Fingers Adventure DIY style, just ride a bus from Manila going to Mariveles. Bus companies like Genesis and Bataan Transit offer daily trips to Mariveles at their terminals in Cubao and Pasay. The fare is about 280 pesos.

The drop-off point is the bus terminal in Mariveles. From there, ride a tricycle going to Barangay Balon or what locals call Porto, the jump-off point of the cove to cove hopping. Tricycle fare is 75 pesos maximum of 4 persons.

When you reach the port, there are locals offering boat rental. Boat rental costs PHP 2500 for a day tour and PHP 3500 for overnight.

Five Fingers Bataan Adventure

Why it is called Five Fingers? From the aerial view, it looks like five fingers spread out which feature beautiful rock formations.

Island Hopping – We started our cove-to-cove adventure at around 8 AM. Visiting Talaga Beach, Apatot Cove, Pulong Kawayan Cove, Tinanlakan Cove, and Nagbintana Arch. Our group rented a boat which is good for 7 people.

Cliff Jumping – This is where the real action begins. You can jump from the 10ft, 15ft high, or if you’re brave enough to jump from a 40ft high cliff. The turquoise water awaits you from jumping off.

This cove is named Tinanlakan. The rocks were shaped resembling stairs going to the top of the cliff. It seems like the rock was carved using a giant chisel.

Snorkeling – This is my favorite part. We probably spend much of our time enjoying the sea with the small fishes underneath. Be careful with the sea urchins, there’s a lot here. My friend got stung by it on his foot and hand when he accidentally slipped. It’s much safer if you are wearing aqua shoes. Also, always wear a life vest if you don’t know how to swim.

Rock climbing – You can practice your rock climbing skills here while you get your way to the top. As per our guide, they call this place a “kryptonite”. For me, it looks like Ms. Universe’s crown from afar. The whole place is perfect for photography. You can find here a lot of Insta-worthy spots that can be used for your social media accounts.

Bus from Cubao to Mariveles terminal (P240) – Php 480 RT
Tricycle to Aplaya or Porto Balon (Php20) – Php 40 RT
Tour Package – Php1000 per pax (Including Island hopping, guide fee, meal)
For those who wanted it DIY, you can rent a boat for Php 2,500 good for 7-8 persons
